CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—-Unum Group today announced preliminary results for the third quarter of 2008. The Company expects net income for the third quarter of 2008 to be between $100 and $108 million and after-tax operating income for the third quarter of 2008 to be between $209 and $217 million .
